Roger Daley, a seemingly ordinary old man, is recruited by Thor, an alien, to join a band of humans on the Ark, an enormous interstellar space ship bound for a new but lifeless planet. Hostile aliens attempt to destroy the ark, Roger has his aging genes turned off and slowly grows younger, and he finds love through glorious, adventurous dates in the arms of a cloned, genetically and socially engineered woman, Gwenyth. Roger explores the wonders of the ark and participates in seminars that lead to a new constitution which they hope will save humanity from our current course of extinction. At the conclusion, Roger is involved in a titanic battle for the new planet on land, sea, and air. Finally he explores their new world with his new family.

The title is well chosen for a select few are taken from a place seemingly headed toward disaster, to a new world where anything is possible. The book does not merely describe the ark's moevment to this new world. Along the way many problems must be fought against orher passengers on the ark and aliens encountered as well. characters are well developed and full of life. After reading the book I feel as if I know or have met them. A great read.Product details

Wonderful ideas for saving our species and civilization set in an action packed adventure with a touching love story.
What an imagination! How do you sleep at night with such ideas running through your mind.
This is a somewhat typical tale of emigration. The emigrants encounter external and internal challenges on their way to a new home. In telling the take the author explores virtually all aspects of social organization and challenges readers examine their own values and assumptions. The book is part adventure story and part social commentary. Worth the read if one is not afraid to have one's beliefs and suppositions challenged.
